SBA's Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Provides Emergency Assistance for Eligible Venues

In April 2021, the Small Business Administration opened the application portal to the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) to provide $16 billion in grants to venues and other related businesses impacted by COVID-19.

Applicants of U.S. based businesses may qualify for grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue with the maximum amount of any one grant at $10 million. Venues must have a defined performance space, proof of sales and in operation as of February 29, 2020.


Eligible entities include:

  • Live venue operators or promoters

  • Theatrical producers

  • Live performing arts organization operators

  • Museum operators

  • Motion picture theater operators (including owners)

  • Talent representatives
