The ultimate objective of Accelerate Columbus is to provide structured qualitatively and quantitatively measurable programs that add value to and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Aventi has partnered with the City to provide one-on-one consulting services to existing small businesses that have been in business for at least two years and reside or operate their business in the City of Columbus. We believe at the growth stage, one-on-one assistance is the most effective approach to address the specifics of each business. There are seven sessions in the program, each lasting 90 minutes, and include an evaluation of your current business model, a profitability analysis, sales forecasting, an evaluation of workflow, and building a 6-12 month action plan toward your goals. The sessions will cover the following topics:
Industry Research – using IBIS World Industry Reports, we’ll determine current trends, strategies of major players in the industry, and key drivers for success.
Business Model – we will evaluate their current model to determine if it’s scalable and which customers will help them reach scalability (Business-2-Business or Business-2-Consumer)
Pricing, Sales Goals, Sales Strategy – we will review their pricing and establish sales goals/strategies to help scale
Digital Transformation– we will evaluate their operational processes and determine ways to scale using technology.
Government & Corporate Contracting –how government and corporate contracting can be used to grow and scale, how to leverage small business certifications to acquire contracts, and how to prepare for contracting including building your team.
Preparation for Access to Capital – we will identify the need for funding to reach scalability and provide the funding resources available in the city. Assistance with funding applications will be provided if needed.
Goals & Action Plan – we will establish a 12-month plan using the techniques learned through the program to get closer to scalability.
